Like many in the east, we’re having some peculiar weather here in Maine. We’ve had a lot of melting, to the dismay of the ski areas AND our basements, and now the sun is peeking through what has been a rainy morning. Then again, many inches of snow are anticipated for the weekend. Who knows? All of this brings out the longing for ease and comfort, which we have in abundance here at Migis through all seasons! On comfortable beds throughout the property are beautiful examples of that very American art form, the handmade quilt. A Trip Around the World or a Log Cabin are the perfect accessory to a lazy July afternoon nap, or after a hike on a crisp October afternoon.
Whether you are a quilt fancier, in search of a show, or a vacationer in search of the Maine experience, we offer access to either or both!

Now, which quilt do you think Mary made with her own two hands?
Have you called Robyn and Scott about your 2010 reservation? Or do you need a nap first!

After a spectacular stretch of weather through Labor Day weekend (and still continuing!), we look ahead to the Maine fairs that demonstrate the hard work, artistry and numerous skills of the Maine people. Think pies and horses and quilts and harness racing and 1000 pound pumpkins and 4H exhibits and woodworkers…………….and beautiful Maine fall weather!
http://www.cumberlandfair.com An easy fifteen mile drive from Migis Lodge. What a great way to spend the day before coming back to your dinner overlooking Sebago Lake and the warm fire in your cottage.
http://www.fryeburgfair.org The grand dame of all Maine fairs is the Fryeburg Fair that wraps up the fair season in October………….we’ll be travelling as a group as one of our Autumn Adventures on October 6, and there are 7 other days to enjoy the fair! A beautiful drive through Bridgton, past Shawnee Peak to the rolling hills of Fryeburg. Come see!
