Exciting news!
Our 1936 ChrisCraft
Tykona emerged from her winter in the skilled hands of Rene Goulette in South Bristol, Maine, where she has been restored and renewed from stem to stern. Once again, but in new style, she will be transporting Migis guests to Millstone Island for cookouts, humming about Sebago for moonlight viewing, carrying tantalizing delicacies for dessert cruises………and bringing brides and grooms together to recite their vows.
Welcome home, Tykona! You are looking fine!

We have spent a lot of time recently talking about how guests find out Migis Lodge. The biggest source of new guests is rave reviews from our existing guests – and for that we are truly grateful to all of you! Most others find us through the internet – searching through travel websites or just googling away and poking through a large number of websites as they make travel plans. When we google and try to find ourselves we use search terms like "Family Lake Resort", "Inn on Sebago Lake", "Lakeside Cottages", "All Inclusive Resort in Maine". What words would you use when you do a google search for Migis? Some guests think of us as an Inn, some a resort, and still others as a Camp – isn't nice we can be so many things to so many people! We hope that you are taking the time to follow us online – Twitter, Flickr, You Tube, or Facebook
Happy Googling!

PS – Look for us in the travel section of the
New York Times in the next few Sunday and Wednesday editions!

I was excited to receive the latest copy of Portland Magazine (Maine's Award Winning Magazine!), and find that Migis was included in in the "Local Flavor" section of the April 2009 Issue. In an article called "Waiter, Can You Bring Me a View?", Allison Richards profiles over a dozen local "hotels offering five-star cuisine and drop-dead beautiful views". The article begins: "The wonderful thing about Maine's ocean and lakeside hotel restaurants with wrap around views is, beyond the steaming hot-boiled lobster, the sweet ears of butter-sugar corn, the strawberry shortcake – or say, at [petite] dejuener, blueberry muffins true as a morning in July, we are able to feast our eyes. That is, the view is the floor show."
Here's what they say about the Dining Room at Migis Lodge: "Diners look south over Sebago Lake and along the western shore of Raymond Cape toward Frye Island. Southwest, over [the Lodge's] lake side cottages, there's Doctor's Island and the widest part of Sebago Lake. Look farther west: that's the sun setting over Mount Washington, its reflection splitting Outer Birch Island and our stone gazebo to our north. Don't miss their Friday night outdoor Lobster Bake."
'til we eat again!
