Migis Lodge is located in the heart of Maine’s Lakes Region, with many historic and beautiful towns and attractions nearby. Whether you’re driving “up” from Portland or “down” from North Conway and New Hampshire, you’ll find plenty to do and see nearby, including the Shaker Village in New Gloucester, canoeing and kayaking on the Saco River and hiking on local hills and mountains. Slightly further afield (about 30-45 minutes driving) - are the attractions of Portland, including the Portland Museum of Art and the Children’s Museum, Brunswick (home to Bowdoin College) and, of course, Freeport, where you’ll find Maine's own L.L. Bean and numerous retail outlets.
One of our favorite things about Migis Lodge is that there is so much to do here, but for the adventurous types, there's even more to do beyond the boundaries of our own little paradise. Below are several links that will serve as resources as you plan excursions away from the lodge. You can always ask our helpful front desk staff for any assistance in arranging or learning more about the many activities nearby.
