We hosted our first 2011 wedding here Sunday; the weather cooperated long enough for Melissa and Robert to exchange vows lakeside before moving up to the Lodge for dinner and dancing. Just overheard at the front desk from someone checking out; “beautiful place! One of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever seen!”. Congratulations and best wishes to all. Wedding talk is fun and it’s definitely that time of year. Scott was off to a wedding in DC (State Department rooftop reception!) over the weekend and Jed to a celebration in New York, at a restaurant under the Brooklyn Bridge. Interesting destinations! We all know our own favorite place, though, as evidenced by how many of our crew have been married here, or have plans to in the near future. The combination of natural beauty, unsurpassed accommodations, meticulously prepared food, great service and an overall great place to gather with friends and family is second to none. Packing finery AND jeans is a sure sign of pleasant times ahead.
The champagne glasses are packed away for now as we resume our May duties and look forward to our next couple. Would you like to be one?
