Land of the missing E

We are big fans of Bridgton, Maine here at Migis Lodge.  Yes, we can go to Windham when we need a supermarket, or the bathing suit we forgot to pack, or to take in a movie, but all these needs can also be met in our neighboring town about 15 miles to the west–with a little more Maine flavor!  Why, you can even put the kids in their pajamas, pack them into the old station wagon, and take in an evening at the drive-in.  We often bring along a Frisbee and get in a few tosses before darkness sets in.  Don’t forget your mosquito repellent!

This summer the causeway dividing Long Lake and Brandy Pond in Naples, en route to Bridgton, is undergoing major renovations as the bridge is replaced, and this in itself is an interesting project to watch unfold.

Many of our Migis guests meander up our driveway, check into their cottage and then stay put for the duration of their stay.  And who can blame them!  But if you get a little yen for some antiquing, or a look at another lake (Highland), or a luxurious facial, or a scenic hike, or a pleasantly cluttered independent book store, or a farmer’s market, or a Maine family-owned department store……………….well, all await you along Main Street in picturesque Bridgton, Maine.
