First, thank you to David Mallett for the great song! I have pleasant memories of fall lunchtimes when Diehl, Scott, Colby, Brad and Terri used to sing it in the dining room………..
We have long been pleased to have little herb gardens here and there at Migis, where the kitchen crew chooses and picks those mysterious elements that bring such added enjoyment to the dishes that appear for you at mealtime. Too, the flowers, planted and tended so carefully by Willow and her able helpers and artfully arranged by Marcia to grace those dinner tables and your mantles and coffee tables and the public spaces………
Now we are going big…..currently in its second year, we have a full organic garden supplying vegetables, flowers and herbs for consumption, and now offering adventures in learning to our Migis kids. As part of our afternoon Kids’ Camp, they sometimes get to hang out with Zack as he explains what’s growing, what they can do to help, and what they can bring home to have a little taste of Migis right in their own kitchens.
Paul Lorraine and his family dug the ground, brought in the organic materials in the spring and started the seeds for cucumbers, several varieties of tomatoes, red gold spring mix, red leaf lettuce, allstar mesclun greens, yellow summer squash, sweet basil, and large leaf basil. And flowers! Marigolds, echinatia, hydrangea, black-eyed Susan….
Well here………let’s have Zack show us around!
